I have dealt with multiple mortgage companies on the purchase, refinance, and sale of my condo. Cole Taylor Mortgage is by far the absolute WORST mortgage company ever. They have antiquated systems, an awful website, and the worst customer service I've ever seen. My mortgage was sold to them after my refi- so I had zero say in who I dealt with. I would never in my life contemplate dealing with this company again. Their website has been a total hassle to set up auto-payments with. In order to ensure I make my payments, I call each month, which is a complete pain in the ass. Never do business with this company.

Our mortgage was sold off to these people after we refinanced. Apparently they don't send monthly statements and send you a coupon book which in this day and age is a joke. Also, they did an escrow evaluation and changed my payment without my knowing and I never saw an updated coupon book as they claimed. All I received was a notice saying I owed more money with no explanation after I sent them my payment with my bank's billpay. Their website is a joke and equally outdated and unhelpful. I had to call to find out what was going on and to have them send me the escrow evaluation and update coupon book. They also don't have current payment reflected in their system even though the money has been withdrawn from my bank account. If possible steer clear of this bank the whole experience is a joke.

Worst, most backward mortgage company I have ever dealt with. The couple problems I had with BofA pale in comparison to this nightmare. They can't keep a copy of my flood insurance to save their lives. Despite multiple emails and faxes, they still "never received it". No worries though, despite being well aware of my current policy, they have no issue purchasing flood insurance on my behalf and adjusting my escrow payment. I refinanced a little over a year ago and my payment has changed 4 times. That is ludicrous. Every time they send me a new coupon book, which is archaic in this day and age anyway. Never has a letter from a financial institution caused my blood to boil immediately upon sight, without even opening it, like anything from Cole Taylor. Please, do yourself a favor and listen to me, and all the other 1 star reviews and stay far, far away.

I was notified by letter that my mortgage was sold to Cole Taylor Mortgage. Get ready to have problems with this mortgage company in Michigan, if your mortgage has been sold to them. Absolutely the worst experience I've had in many years trying to deal with this company. They do not seem to have adequate personnel to help with emergency situations. A tree fell on my house during a storm and destroyed the roof. After I settled with my insurance company, who treated me right, I had to mail the settlement check to Cole Taylor Mortgage, along with other paperwork that was extremely time consuming. After 2 months with a hole in my roof, I still do not have access to any money from my check. The mortgage company will only release 20% of the funds, which will not even begin to purchase the materials needed to start the new roof. I have spoken with several representatives from Cole Taylor Mortgage, remained on hold for hours, and still haven't seen a dime. It's absolutely ridiculous that they can hold people hostage like they have. SInce the tree fell on the roof, there have been several other storms come through Northwest Georgia. I have more damage to my attic area now because of a lack of urgency from Cole Taylor Mortgage. When you speak with the representatives, they say that they are extremely back logged. Beware of this mortgage company! All they want is your money, and are not at all concerned about the well being of their customers.

I've done several loans through MB in the past 5 years. They provide outstanding value and exceptional service. John Simpkins is my banker and is incredibly responsive to all of my questions throughout each process. I've gotten great rates (as good as I can get anywhere else, and usually better). I'd highly recommend MB. They are small enough to treat you like a friend/family but large enough to ensure you're getting a great product with great service and a great rate.
