Completely Incompetent staff and systems. DO NOT CALL THE HOTLINE. I was told I did not need to come in for jury duty via the hotline, (which I double checked with the front desk that I called the correct number) and then I received a failure to show letter.

Literally my own worst nightmare, I'd rather stick a fork in my own eye than have to deal with these people as often as i have to. I just want to get info on my child support, i want to modify my case so that im not borderline homeless at all times meanwhile these people cant even figure out how to call somebody back much less effectively deal with peoples child support cases. I have been trying for FIVE YEARS to get solid answers from these people and all i get is the run around and not returned voicemails. This is the epitome of our government right here, this is why over 40,000 men kill themselves each year over child support...

If I could give them no stars I would. Experience here was terrible.

You absolutely need an attorney to deal with these fools. My ex and I met with a mediator through FOC in September to finalize our parenting and child support agreement. FOC would supposed to have the judge sign off on the agreement and submit it. Just recently, I emailed my attorney to see what the hold up was (since FOC is no help), and she was surprised that the court order wasn't effective yet. So, through my attorney's prompting, the FOC finally had the judge sign the order and they submitted the paperwork. Not only that, but they lost all of the paperwork I sent them, claiming they didn't receive it. They also claimed that they didn't receive half of my ex's paperwork. Very unorganized. It's almost imperative to have an attorney in order to deal with FOC.

My daughter turns 9 in less than a month. In that time, I've spent near $1000 in filing fees alone. I have never harmed my daughter or let any harm come to her. She has never had as much as a scrape while on my watch, as compared to her mother, where she has had to go to the hospital 3 times. At my last mediation hearing, my case was solid. My daughters mom was informed that she didnt have any good reason to keep me from 50/50 custody.... Repeatedly! She prompted a talk afterwards, in which I was slandered to all hell, and when the report came back in the mail ( a month later, mind you), I was denied the time for ridiculous reasons that noone would dare say in front of me. Lawyers told me that Washtenaw county is for the mothers, and to give up until she messes up substantially. That was 3 years ago, and I'm just now getting a lawyer to help me handle this situation. The best advice I can give to anyone here is: Be a good dad, and don't let these idiots keep you from your kid. You are just as important as the mother. Though you will have an uphill battle, and you'll be weighed down the entire time, we need more dads to show what they are about so maybe we can change the way we are percieved. Good luck.
