I had a good experience with the people in the live birds section. For being employees (and most likely part-time) they were very intimate with the animals. They knew specifics and traits about individual animals and treated them all as if their own. I was pleasantly surprised.
They are always helpful and very kind. There are lots of coupons and different varieties of things.

The prices on 'off the shelf merchandise' is higher than other pet stores I have been to.
They carry the cat litter I like at a great price (cheaper per pound than Amazon, even) and the service is great. They have a good price on Fromm's cat food too, with a really decent selection available. It's the only place in town that has all the brands of pet supplies I use in one place, which saves me a lot of hassle.
A nice place to shop, without the national name
They sell rabbits and other small pets and I enjoy going to look at them if I have time while I'm in the store. I have noticed that the cages/tanks are always clean, which I think is important.
