You are only as good as who you employ and the university of Michigan health care is an echo chamber of arrogance and ignorance. Complacent Dr's patting each other on the back as the patient needlessly suffers.
They'll shuffle you till you die
It's 5 months later and zero treatment. I'm at a new uofm faculty just begging for an mri so I can get to a new dr with some diagnosis. Yup 5 months of begging and no MRI. I have made very effort. Days worth of hours waiting on hold or in different waiting rooms. Everyone is also is upset at you for being upset and in pain.
Please don't let this happen to you!

"University of pass the buck" as you suffer. Be ware! Dismissed and constantly being shuffled with no treatment.
I came into the er with a pretty bad elbow and arm injuryfrom preacher curls. I'm aug2015. This was days after I had kidney stone surgery at the university's(completely different nightmare). After of course waiting about 7hours I was dismissed( Dr.stephenson) with no diagnosis or treatment of any kind, I think a placebo or anti inflammatory but that's it. I was made to wait in agonizing pain with no treatment at all for over a month to see an ortho. He didn't give me a real medical diagnosis and dismissed me to physical therapy again another month with zero treatment of any kind.The primary care Dr they gave me,Dr. medaugh, was the worst by far. She used my ailments to attack me and withhold treatments. I think she was going through her own stuff and lashed out in me. I can't use my arm or touch my elbow during this time and am extreme pain and please remember I am dealing with kidney stones. The physical therapist said "omg how have you been dealing with this" it hurt way to much to do the pt. I called the ortho(Dr. Alvarez) back and he said ohh well you need see a different dr for that Injury again months later. I asked what do you mean. "Who/what are you"? It's been five months since coming to the university of michigan er. They sent me to dr. Omar, who you guessed it, sent me to anther dr. Months out for an appt. OMG!!!! ZERO treatment of any kind. No elbow brace no injections no pain meds or anything absolutely nothing and there is an obvious tear and more. It's crazy! I have done everything A patient can do to receive trearment. I don't know if I lm to tall or have to many letters in my name or my skin isn't light enough but it's something that's hindering me from getting help. It's beyond incompitance...it's malicious.almost as if they are personnly unhappy people who take joy in my health and life deterior..crazy but that's what it seems like. Very personal. The actual people working at the university are the university and I swear some take joy in paient misery. Not joking. This place is absolutely crazy.no empath or actual patient care that I've experienced. I have no choice in this. there is no another elbow specialist in near me.
If you value your health I would stay away from this evil institution.
