Love the Feast but it's a bit pricey for Ethiopian food. Pretty sure the same dish would be 75% less expensive in Ethiopia. However, it's a nice change of pace for a downtown restaurant and a great place to bring a group of friends or family. Besides the price the food is excellent!
We love Ethiopian cuisine, but this is middling. The injera should be thick, sour and chewy. Theirs was thin and mild. The way it works here, you have to buy the all you can eat option. This was not good value for money. Our group of 5 didn't eat $100 worth of dinner. The atmosphere is pleasant and service is good. It's just not great for the price.
The food is incredible incredible!! And the service is amazing too. We go here literally every 2-4 weeks and highly recommend this restaurant.
If you haven't tried Ethiopian food, it's worth a try. You can get a vegetarian feast for $17. They bring you a platter with 6 different foods (beans, lentils, cabbages, etc). You can get the meat feast for an extra $3 and that adds spicy beef, medium chicken and spicy chicken to your platter. They bring you hot towels before and after the meal, and you're supposed to eat with your hands (they do bring forks for you if you ask for it though).
Our waitress was nice and friendly and very attentive.
I got a cognac herbal tea which was more on the sweet side and not that special.
Fast, good food. Doesn't feel over indulgent but you get gorgeous rich flavours. Very pleasant, attentive service.
Really don’t get the hate on this place by some Ethiopian food purists. We LOVE this place. Their food is so delicious it’s ridiculous. Every time we go there we end up over eating cuz of how tasty every darn thing is. The service is top notch and these people are so nice that one day recently we landed up here on a very cold day about forty minutes ahead of when they were going to reopen for dinner. I guess from inside they saw the look of abject disappointment on our faces and were so kind enough to come and open the door for us and serve us so much ahead of time.
