My dog Roxy has been at the affordable vet since birth, some four years. Brought her in last week, as i found a weird growth on her shoulder area. The front desk employee told me they could not look at Roxy, because they are by appointment only and I should take her to the emergency clinic on Jackson R.. Not wanting to be confrontational, i left and went to the Jackson Rd. clinic. Jackson Rd. is for emergencies only and my dog had a dead tick on her. They were a little dismayed as they are EMERGENCY!!!! They did remove the tick for a cost that has high(around $100.00), but I did understand they are an EMERGENCY clinic. I called the Office Manager at Affordable to ask if i should switch vets as i was very disappointed the way this was treated and I was still concerned about the possibility of LYME decease.. All she did was tell me how the vets are so busy they can't treat walk in's. Really for a Tick!!!! She also told me how Fridays are always a tough day for the Vets. Really!!!! I soon ended the conversation, as a customer service supervisor myself i know this person had no customer skills at all. DURING OUR 5 MINUTE CONVERSATION SHE NEVER ASKED ONCE HOW MY DOG WAS DOING AND LETS GET HER IN HERE TO CHECK FOR LYME AND HOW ABOUT WE SHOULD HAVE HANDLED THIS BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've been taking my cat to affordable vet for nearly 3 years (since moving to town) and my dog for a year and half (since we adopted him). I can't recommend them highly enough. I tell anyone who asks that they are great, and we would be going there whether they had "Affordable" in the name or not. My dog had a lot of health issues as a puppy and I feel confident that they gave him the same care that they would have if he was their own. There are obviously times when going to the vet is not cheap but I feel 100% confident that they do not try to sell me anything we don't need.
I love AVS so much! Dr Tara helped so so much with my beloved cat's "move to Paris". it was the saddest possible thing for me but Dr Tara really made it smooth, comforting, and uniqueness to my cat and I's needs. She really made it the best a situation like this could be. The prices are so fair! I am moving soon and worried about finding similar care!
This is a pretty good vet, I have brought my cat here a few times. I like the staff and the veterinarians, they understand that I don't want to spend an arm and leg for minor things and the services they offer are priced for pet owners on budgets. I would recommend this vet to any pet owner for their animal's healthcare.
Sometimes success can make us forget how we got there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had MANY interactions with the folks at Affordable Vet. The office staff, the Vet technicians, all are extremely helpful. I needed to have one of my dogs sent to that special place the other side of heaven The Rainbow Bridge for beloved pets. Never, have I had such a wonderful experience for me and my dog CoCo. There was a sign on the door and a quilt for her to lay on. My vet Dr. Tara Hansen was down on the floor with CoCo helping her - it was, as I indicated a very pleasant unpleasant experience. Thank you Affordable Vet for your kindness to me and to Coco.
