Great service, and really went the extra mile to help me out.
I had an older Toyota Avalon that had stopped running, and so rented a mid-size car from National to get me through the week while I looked at a replacement. In chatting with Rick who was working the desk, he asked what type of car I might get next. I told him I was likely to get another Avalon. He then made a phone call, and arranged for me to have a 2016 Avalon for the week! It was just great to be able to "test-drive" the car for an entire week while I was checking out Avalon's (and a couple different makes and models). Highly recommend.
National is one of my favorites, but about a month ago, they started to put a large deposit ($500) hold on anyone who rents a car in the same state they live. Even if they are an Emerald Member - with a good standing history of renting vehicles without any problems. This might be a deal breaker for me. I don't think all car rental places are doing this. This is even utilizing U of M contract. Which as an employee - we shouldn't have to put a deposit down on the cars as an Emerald Member.
I waited 25 minutes to get service. Only onew person at counter. The car I received was dirty,
This place is hit or miss. Sometimes you get a nice car. New, clean, low mileage. Sometime you get one like I got last week: High Mileage, stained seats, the door was broken.
I have always had good service from this location and have never had any issues.
